Mrs. D. Biasucci

Kids reading

Dear Parents or Guardians:   My name is Mrs. Biasucci, and I am the Reading Specialist at James Madison School #10.  As the Reading Specialist, I have the pleasure of working with the students and collaborating with teachers in grades Kindergarten through fifth on various concepts and skills that are being taught in their classroom.  During my instructional time in the Reading Room, skills taught in the classroom are reinforced. Also, as the Reading Specialist, I provide the students with lessons that are designed to meet their individual reading needs with support in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills.  The students are taught helpful reading/writing strategies and techniques that aid in promoting reading fluency and comprehension skills. My goal is to help each student become an independent reader and foster their achievement in literacy.

I am eager to work with the students to help build their self-esteem and assist with any difficulties the students may have with reading and writing. Please encourage your child to read more at home.  A strong partnership between home and school is essential for promoting your child’s interest, motivation and student success. Please contact me if you have any questions at [email protected].

I look forward to a successful year working with you and your child!
