Mrs. Jennifer Alfonso

Mrs. Jennifer Alfonso holds a Master Degree of Arts in Education from Saint Peter’s College (Jersey City, NJ 2005) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from William Paterson University (Wayne, NJ 1998). She has professional educator certifications in School Principal (All Levels) and Elementary Education (N-8).

Mrs. Jennifer Alfonso has been an educator for over twenty-six years in the Garfield School District. Currently, she is the proud principal at James Madison School #10. Formerly, Mrs. Alfonso was the principal of Roosevelt School #7 for seven years, she also held the position of Educational Technology Specialist for the Garfield district for four years, and she started her career as a fourth-grade teacher at Woodrow Wilson School #5 for ten years.

Mrs. Alfonso has organized many professional development opportunities for staff and has served on many committees. She enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues to maximize learning opportunities for the students and families.

Mrs. Alfonso is ecstatic to be a lifelong resident, graduate and educator in the City of Garfield. She understands how important a role the school, community and parents play in making sure the children are receiving a quality education that will prepare them with the skills they need to be successful in society. Mrs. Alfonso understands that communication and interaction with parents enhance the students learning. She welcomes parent input and assistance in any way to help their children. The community involvement is also a priority, and she understands how to use resources of local agencies to enhance the learning at James Madison School #10.

Mrs. Alfonso and her staff make James Madison School #10 a special place to enter. When you walk through the doors, it is a magical environment with affection, happiness, and wonderful learning. Mrs. Alfonso is very proud of her extremely dedicated and caring staff members and wonderful students who work hard to exceed on a daily basis.

On a personal note, Mrs. Alfonso, her husband, her son, and her daughter are all proud graduates of the Garfield School District. She believes in her community and her school system.
