Art UPDATES/News

Color Palette.pngHELLO! Once again, I am Ms. Wich your Art Teacher. I wanted to give you some information how Art will be conducted for this first phase of remote learning.

1.VIDEOS/LIVE MEETINGS:

  • I will be creating Art videos like I did last year and I will be posting them on the ART TEAMS Page in "ASSIGNMENTS" as well as on my web page under ART LESSONS 2020-21. Please refer to your grade level and the appropriate date to get the lesson.
  • I will also be conducting LIVE Teams meetings, 30 min. a week for each grade level. This will be the time to interact with one another, ask questions, show art work and give support. I will not be giving the lesson during this meeting time, you will refer to the video for that.
  • Students must be present for the Live team meetings to keep up to date with what is going on. A lot of your questions can be answered here if you choose, instead of having to email or message.

2. TIME FRAME:

  • Art projects will be due at various times. They will run the course of 1-3 weeks    giving the students ample time to work on it. I am not expecting projects to be completed all at once. Students may go at their own pace, working on Art 20-30 min. weekly.

3. SUPPLIES:

  • Students may need certain supplies for the project and that will be included in the lesson or I will give advance notice when I have a Live session with the students. Any project can be done with crayon or I can give suggestions to adjust.
  • Crayons, colored pencils, glue, white paper & scissors would be best to have on hand for Art. Other supplies may be suggested depending on the project. If there are concerns, we can discuss.

4. COMPLETED PROJECT:

  • When turning in an Art project you need to take a picture and upload it into our TEAMS- ASSIGNMENTS page. Here I will have each students name/class/grade/building that will automatically be entered once uploaded.
  • If you send a picture through email you will need to include that information, otherwise I will not know who it is coming from. TEAMS- ASSIGNMENTS is the easiest way!
  • Please DO NOT THROW AWAY any Art! Please hold on to all projects, as I will be collecting them once students return to school.

5. IDENTIFYING WHO YOU ARE:

  • This year I travel to School #10 & #5. I have 425 students. I need your help in identifying who you are especially those at #5 because this is my first year in that building.
  • My TEAMS are separate for each school, but all classes are combined. I need the student's first & last name, grade, homeroom teacher & school. For example; John Smith, 3H #10.
  • Please use this format when emailing or sending a private message chat in TEAMS. I will get to know all of you, but it will take time.

6. COMMUNICATION:

  •  I am here for you and want to support you in any way that I can. You can email me at [email protected] or reach out through TEAMS.
  • I will be checking at various times throughout the day. If it's an urgent matter, please email me & I will do my best to get back to you as soon as I can.
  • My office hours are 1:00-3:00, where can have communication. Anything after 3:00 I will not see it until the next day.

I am very flexible & understanding in this new way of learning. We are all in this together & I want everyone to do their best and have a successful year. I am looking forward to working with all of you and helping you grow into a wonderful artist!
- Ms. Wich
